Have you ever visited garden ponds at a major garden while on vacation and wished you could take a piece of that beauty home to your garden? Gardens in cities such as Munich and Florence are renowned for their lovely ponds. If you have the means, time and energy you too can have a pond in your yard.

Garden ponds can be installed by contractors or gardeners. If you go with a contractor, make sure you check references and go over the plans so that you feel comfortable with the work being done. If you do the work yourself get some gardening tips online and speak to a salesman at your garden center.

Garden ponds can add tremendous vitality to your garden. Start out with artfully placed rocks and lilies. Finally, you can add freshwater fish to your pond though this will require additional maintenance.
